Henok Mulubrhan can call himself African champion on the road for another year. The 23-year-old Eritrean, who normally plays for the Italian Green Project-Bardiani CSF-Faizanè, crossed the line first in the Ghanaian capital Accra.
Today the men competed in Accra for the national (umbrella) African title on the road. Mulubrhan managed to follow himself after a race of 120 kilometers. The young driver already showed his good form in La Tropicale Amissa Bongo in the run-up to the African Championships. In this stage race through Gabon he finished four times in the top 5 and finished eleventh in the final standings.
Mulubrhan therefore shines on the African continent, but also showed great things in Europe last year. In 2022, for example, he finished sixth in the Tour of Antalya and also finished seventh in a stage in the Adriatica Ionica Race. Among the promises, he was good for several short classifications in Italian one-day races, but he also finished 19th in the Tour de l'Avenir.
