Munich -This incident makes you speechless! On Friday evening, a drunken young man severely injured an emergency doctor on duty as he hurled a full whiskey bottle into the window of her ambulance.

The doctor suffered a traumatic brain injury, a broken jaw, several worn out teeth and cuts in the face, as the police announced on Saturday. Even a paramedic was injured. The assailant, a refugee from Eritrea, was arrested on Saturday.

The emergency doctor had come with a paramedic to a residential complex for senior citizens to help a resident. The paramedic parked the car in front of the dorm when the 20-year-old and his companion, a 17-year-old Ethiopian, came by. Both live as refugees in a youth center in Ottobrunn (near Munich).

The 20-year-old Eritrean had thrown for no apparent reason, a full bottle from about one and a half meters away against the window of the car door, it said in the police. The bottle broke through the glass and hit the paramedic sitting in the passenger seat on the face. She was taken to a Munich hospital. The paramedic was injured by flying glass splinters on the eye.

The young men fled, but police officers arrested them a little later. The 20-year-old and also the 17-year-old Ethiopian resisted the arrest. While the younger was released after his interrogation and after taking his personal details, a judge against the 20-year-old on Saturday issued arrest warrant.

As it turned out, the Eritrean had beaten two carers in the youth house Ottobrunn even before his bottle throwing: Reason had been a confrontation with the women when he and his friend wanted to take a suitcase with alcoholic drinks in the youth house.

When the attendants pointed out to them the prohibition of alcohol in the entire house, it came to the attack.
As the police further reported, were against the 20-year-olds already before ads for previous injuries.

Bavaria's Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann (CSU) condemned the attack: "In our country to seek protection and security while attacking our rescue forces in a fit of blind aggression, is not," said Herrmann. At the same time he demands that the offender must be "severely punished".
