Eritrean President: Political and economic repercussions due to disruption of navigation in the Red Sea
In an exclusive interview with Cairo News, the Eritrean president reveals his country's plans to counter the power struggle in the Red Sea, clarifies his stance towards Egypt, discusses regional and international interventions, and addresses Eritrea's maritime ambitions and the implications of its strategic moves in the region.

Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki said that foreign interventions are among the most prominent factors of instability in the Horn of Africa region, stressing that the region needs local and international solutions that respect the sovereignty of countries and achieve regional stability.
In statements to Cairo News Channel, the Eritrean president pointed out that the Red Sea is a vital waterway for all countries of the world, not just for the countries of the region, explaining that any threat to its security or disruption of navigation in it could have global economic and political repercussions.

The Eritrean president stressed that the stability and security of Sudan is essential for achieving balance and security in the Horn of Africa, noting that any instability in Sudan could exacerbate tensions in neighboring countries and directly affect regional security.

He stressed the importance of cooperation between the countries of the region and engaging the international community wisely to maintain security and navigation in the Red Sea and to support the stability of Sudan in a way that serves the interests of the region and the world.
