Americans’ Extreme Resistance to Recognizing Their Govt.’s Extreme Corruptness

The evidences of the extreme corruptness of America’s Government will first be summarized and linked-to here; and, then, one typical example of my research-findings about how the American public react to news-reports of what are actual governmental policy-decisions that exemplify and display and result from this Governmental corruptness, will be presented; and I shall close with the shocking-to-me finding that I have been UNDER-estimating the intensity of the American public’s resistance to understanding even the highly-filtered (laundered, sanitized, and washed) ‘news’ that is being presented to us. (I am in a state of shock about this, and explain how I deal with that.)

On February 14th, the AP headlined “Where US adults think the government is spending too much, according to AP-NORC polling”, and listed in rank-order according to the opposite (“spending too little”) the following 8 Government functions: 1. Social Security; 2. Medicare; 3. Education; 4. Assistance to the poor; 5. Medicaid; 6. Border security; 7. Federal law enforcement; 8. The Military. That’s right: the American public (and by an overwhelming margin) are THE LEAST SUPPORTIVE of spending more money on the military, and the MOST SUPPORTIVE of spending more money on Social Security, Medicare, Education, Assistance to the poor, and Medicaid (those latter five being the functions the Republican Party has always been the most vocal to call “waste, fraud, and abuse” and try to cut — but those 5 were the most-favored by the American public). Meanwhile, The Military, which actually receives 53% (and in the latest year far more than that) of the money that the Congress allocates each year and gets signed into law by the President, keeps getting, each year, over 50% of the annually appropriated federal funds. Furthermore, the U.S. Defense Department is the only Department of the federal Government so corrupt, so intensely corrupt, that it has never been audited.

Trump is increasing the military and border security, and decreasing education, assistance to the poor, Medicaid, federal law enforcement, and even Social Security and Medicare (the latter two by laying off many of the people who staff those bureaucracies). This Government’s policy-priorities are like the public’s turned upside-down — in other words: are the REVERSE of the public’s — and therefore the U.S. Government right now is a perfect example of a dictatorship. One might say that this is so in only the Executive branch, but it’s not necessarily true: As always when one political faction (regardless whether it it is one Party or a coalition of Parties) has control over both the Executive and the Legislative branches of the Government — as now the case in the U.S. — these two branches (Executive and Legislative) function as one, and there then will even be a totalitarian dictatorship if they can get the Judicial branch or Supreme Court to call it “Constitutional.” Currently, the U.S. is slipping from a dictatorship towards a totalitarian dictatorship; but America has been a dictatorship ever since at least 1980. And that is a dictatorship by the super-rich.

As the liberal (Democratic Party) wing of America’s aristocracy said, in the person of its Warren Buffett, “There’s class warfare, all right, but it’s my class, the rich class, that’s making war, and we’re winning.” (He told this to the conservative Ben Stein, reporting in the aristocracy’s New York Times, under the headline “In Class Warfare, Guess Which Class Is Winning”.)

That’s the situation as it had been since at least 1980, but the current trend away from that is toward even more of a dictatorship in America.

The way that the super-rich, or billionaires, succeed at controlling the public in order to produce the widespread delusion of the U.S. public to believe that we live under a democracy, is by means of the process that Walter Lippmann in his 1922 book Popular Opinion, famously called by the now-famous phrase “manufacture of consent”. This was in the immediate wake of World War One (WW1, WW I). Lippmann had already seen enough to recognize that somehow (he didn’t know how) some small group of people (he didn’t know whom) had manufactured the public’s consent for America to join that War. He ended his book by admitting that he had no answers to any of the big questions, such as how the public’s consent is actually manufactured, or by whom. (The public don’t buy books that probe beyond the surface. Lippmann needed income from his book. He needed the book to sell well.) The index to his book doesn’t include the name “Bernays, Edward”, nor even “Committee on Public Information”, but they had actually done it — sold WW1 to the public, for Woodrow Wilson and the billionaires who had purchased his 2012 win of the Presidency. So, Lippmann was a good enough analyst to have recognized that even in America in his time, wars were now being sold to the public in the same way that products such as CocaCola are, but he wasn’t a good-enough analyst to understand anything more. His book meandered through the writings of Plato and other philosophers to learn more, but said that Plato’s recommendation for Philosopher Kings can’t work in this country, and Plato didn’t explain how it could even possibly work. (That fact still hasn’t stopped universities from teaching it.) Unfortunately, Lippmann simply didn’t know about the empirical (historical) realities that could have enabled him to be more than a superficial analyst. (But that isn’t even needed in order to be a successful joournalist, anyway. Actually, it’s a hindrance.)

Today the necessary empirical data (historical realities) have become established that answer these questions, and the same few individuals (billionaires) who successfully marketed WW1 to the American people, have been and are marketing the public’s acceptance of American outright aggressions around the world. And here is just ONE example of how successful at doing this they have been today:

I selected that because it simultaneously publishes online the latest news-reports from many of the U.S. regime’s ‘news’-media, but (which only few of those media themselves do) invites and allows each reader to post a comment to it — AND (which is even more terrific) for the readers of those comments, allows them to select the option “top” so as to present at the top of that list the comments that have been up-voted by the largest number of readers, and down-voted by the fewest; so, one can now immediately get an empirically based sense of how the PUBLIC are RESPONDING to the reported news-events.

“Trump Hit By Devastating Intel Leak of Iran Bombing ‘Flop’”

U.S. strikes on three key targets in Iran over the weekend did not destroy key components of the country’s nuclear program, according to an early Pentagon intelligence assessment.

The daring mission to bomb the sites likely only set the program back months, four people briefed on the report told CNN.

The intelligence undermines Trump’s repeated insistence that the nuclear sites were “completely and fully obliterated.”

The assessment was produced by the Defense Intelligence Agency within the Defense Department and is based on an assessment of battle damage by U.S. Central Command conducted after the strikes, one of the sources told CNN.

The assessment found that Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium was not destroyed, two of the people familiar said, and one of the sources said the centrifuges were largely intact.

The New York Times [“many military bomb experts believed that more than one day of strikes would be needed to complete the job.”] citing officials familiar with the assessment also reported that the preliminary findings found the bombings sealed off the entrances to two of the facilities but did not collapse their underground buildings.

The assessment also said much of the enriched uranium stockpile was moved in advance, and the strikes destroyed little nuclear material.

It comes as top Trump administration officials have touted the success of the strikes late Saturday against Iran’s nuclear program but some have been publicly evasive when it comes to details about the extent of the damage or the enriched uranium in the aftermath.

The White House on Tuesday directly rejected the early intelligence assessment while acknowledging its existence to CNN.

“This alleged assessment is flat-out wrong and was classified as ‘top secret’ but was still leaked to CNN by an anonymous, low-level loser in the intelligence community,” said White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. …

House Minority Leader [Democrat] Hakeem Jeffries [said] “There are apparently reasons to believe that that was a blatant misrepresentation made by Donald Trump to the American people.” …

This is an excellent example of billionaires-controlled ‘news’-reporting to the public, because it presents all Governmental issues as pitting one of the billionaires-controlled Parties against another of the billionaires-controlled Parties (in this case, Democrats versus Republicans) in order to PREVENT the public from recognizing that BOTH Parties are controlled by their respective mega-donors, all of whom are among America’s approximately mere 1,000 billionaires; and, so, the ‘news’-reports are actually mere puppet-theatre, and they get the public aroused against ONE-ANOTHER — in this case, one might expect, Democrats (the Democratic puppets), versus Republicans (the Republican puppets) so as to PREVENT them from thinking and responding INSTEAD, against the puppeteers, who are ACTUALLY in CONTROL over the Government, REGARLESS of WHICH group of billionaires that is, at any given time.

So how does leaking a true assessment bring discredit to the pilots. That’s not why we ask the questions. Has nothing to do with them. We just want the real truth.

Absolutely. The pilots executed the plan with precision. The plan was flawed from the outset. The good news is we now know the effectiveness of bunker busters in real world use. Not as effective as hyped.

None of the top-listed comments were blaming either the Republican President or the Democratic minority for this, and I was shocked to find that this is so. Consequently, I need to recognize that when the failure of a blatantly international-law-violating aggression by the U.S. Government (which this certainly WAS) is being reported to the American people, we DON’T blame ‘the opposite Party’, and that there are even some significant number of readers who are trying to shunt the blame DOWNWARD to the U.S. troops who CARRIED-OUT the international-war-crime (that the President, after all, ORDERED).

All of the information that I am reporting here is to the effect that when a news-report is being made of the U.S. Government’s failure in its carrying-out of a blatant and very serious international-war-crime, the American public DON’T take the billionaires-offered bait (to blame ‘the opposite Party’), BUT, instead, are in total-reality-denial mode, to such an extent that they are even willing to consider the ‘possibility’ (which is actually zero) that their Government’s own TROOPS might be to blame for what they had done — but NOT “the President,” who proudly ORDERED it — NOR even blame ‘the opposite Party’. This reminds me of how Germans responded to the ‘news’ when THEIR Government under Hitler was blatantly and ALSO aggressively carrying out what even then were international-law-violating actual war-crimes — the German public’s refusal (with very few exceptions) to recognize how corrupt (anti-democratic — NOT representing the public’s policy-priorities, but instead constantly “manufacturing” them) THEIR Government was, at that time. So, I understand this (maybe because I have always been more interested in German culture than in American culture), and, so, I can sympathize with it (despite never being that way myself).

Consequently, I am even MORE committed than I was before to what I had proposed in my 6 June 2025 article “How to Create an Authentic Democracy”. How could I, in any way, NOT be?

One person asked me how the billionaires in an electoral ‘democracy’ DO control the Government (or “manufacture consent”), and I replied that they possess a veto-power to exclude from the final ballot ANYONE who doesn’t have at least ONE billionaire funder. He objected: “But this would control the selection of candidates, it would not amount to control of the government.” I replied: “THE WAY THAT THE BILLIONAIRES CONTROL THE GOVERNMENT IS VIA THEIR EFFECTIVE VETO-POWER OVER EACH OF THE PARTIES' NOMINEES FOR POLITICAL OFFICE. That's how they do it. And they do it not ONLY by their donating over half of all the donations to the national political candidates, but ALSO by their controlling the corporations that are the major advertisers and that therefore keep all political media in their thrall (plus many of the major media are directly owned or controlled by billionaires), etc. But it is their VETO power over the Parties' nominees that is the KEY.” And the billionaires construct that “key” out of these parts. 

On June 25th, Russia’s RT News headlined “NATO commits to doubling military budgets”, and reported:

NATO leaders have agreed to a massive spike in defense spending, overcoming internal divisions and relegating Ukraine to a secondary agenda item to finalize a historic pact that will double members’ military budgets. At a short summit in The Hague, the US-led military bloc committed to raising defense expenditures to 5% of member GDP by 2035, a dramatic escalation from the current 2% target. 

US President Donald Trump hailed the agreement as a “monumental win,” having  pressured European members to “pay their share” since the first term. 

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte framed the spending surge as building an alliance that is “stronger, fairer, and more lethal”, a mantra he has championed since June 2025 as NATO’s new strategic doctrine. 

‘Defense’ stocks and profits will almost certainly soar as a result of this. European nations’ Governmental expenditures on health, education, and welfare, will then plunge. The situation for the U.S.-and-allied publics will become increasingly dire, and the publics outside the U.S. empire will become showered increasingly by its war-propaganda and by its bombs. Anyone who thinks that this is happening because of democracy doesn’t even understand what democracy means. All dictatorships live and survive ONLY by lies and censorship. That’s how it’s done.

Right now, the U.S. Government spends 65% of the entire world’s military expenditures (a far higher percentage than the U.S. empire’s SIPRI claims). Only U.S.-and-allied billionaires have benefited from this. Now they intend to be taking everything. However, later in the day on June 25th, Stephen Bryen, who is a retired high executive from the U.S. ‘Defense’ Department and from the top ten U.S. weapons-manufacturing firms, pointed out that there is no way that NATO can enforce the ‘commitments’ by NATO nations to double their ‘defense’ expenditures by 2035. Nonetheless, the billionaires, who control these Governments, have thereby made clear that this is what they WANT. And those people have already proven that they do control at least the U.S. Government. The only way for the other NATO countries to free themselves from its grip, would be for them to quit NATO. Perhaps they should formally ally themselves with both Russia and China, neither of which has invaded or even threatened to invade any NATO country (except to strike back if NATO strikes Russia). Certainly the U.S. is vastly more aggressive than any other country in the world is.
