Urmia - The German Bike Aid team rider won three gold, green, and white jerseys in the first stage of the 37th Iran-Azerbaijan International Cycling Tour

According to a Mehr reporter , the first stage of the 37th Iran-Azerbaijan International Cycling Tour was held this afternoon on the 153.3-kilometer route from El-Goli Park in Tabriz to Al-Ghadir Park in Urmia.

At the end of the first stage, Milkias  Maekele from the German Bike Aid team crossed the finish line first. Taher Igit from Turkey's Tutuspor came in second and Yoel Habtib from Bike Aid came in third.

Milkias Maekele from the German Bike Aid team also won the white jersey (best rider under 23), the green jersey (points jersey), and the gold jersey (best rider) of this stage. Hassan Seifollahi from the Iranian national team also won the red jersey (mountain). The title of best team also went to our country's national cycling team.

The 37th Iran-Azerbaijan International Cycling Tour is currently underway, with the participation of more than 10 teams from different countries, and its first round was held from Tabriz to Urmia on a 153-kilometer route.

In this stage, 64 cyclists from seven foreign teams - Bike Aid Germany, Jakarta Pro Indonesia, Wino Kazakhstan, Spur Toto Turkey, Istanbul Belediye Spur Turkey, the Iraqi national team and Oyusun Uzbekistan, and four domestic teams - Sahand Pump Tabriz, TRT Zanjan, Viride Iran and the Iranian national team - rode the 153-kilometer route from Tabriz's El Goli Park to Urmia's Al Ghadir Park.

At the end of the first stage, after more than 3.5 hours, Michael Mirkias, a cyclist for the German Bike Aid team, stood on the podium.

Tahir Yıtik from the Turkish TotaSport team came in second and Haptik Yüll from the German Bike team came in third.

At the end of this stage, Milkias Maekele from the German Bikes team wore the gold, white, and green jerseys, and Hassan Seifollahi from the Iranian national team wore the red jersey.

The second stage of the 37th Iran-Azerbaijan International Cycling Tour will begin tomorrow in front of the West Azerbaijan Governorate in the city of Urmia, and cyclists will ride the longest route of the tour, 212 kilometers, from Urmia to Jolfa.
