Biniam Girmay was very emotional after the final time trial of the Tour de France . After the finish in Nice, his final victory in the points classification was one hundred percent secured, which only then dawned on him. "What can I say?", he told the assembled press.

“To everyone, thank you for everything,” said the leader of Intermarché-Wanty , who surprised with three stage wins in this race and then successfully defended the green. “I didn’t come with these ambitions, I came to show that I’m not a bad cyclist.”
