Meetings with President Afwerki and five ministers
The Minister of Business and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso , is from today on a mission to Eritrea , where he will remain until Wednesday 26 June.
During his official visit, which follows recent missions to Algeria, Egypt, Libya and Tunisia in the framework of the Mattei Plan , Minister Urso will meet today with Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki and some government ministers: Foreign Affairs, Trade and 'Industry, Transport and Telecommunications and Health, as well as the Commissioner for Culture and Sport.
The visit follows that of President Afwerki in Rome last January, received bilaterally by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and the openings to the Eritrean government at the Italy-Africa Summit, which was attended by heads of government and state from most of the countries Africans.
The mission will focus on a series of dossiers regarding bilateral relations and the activities of Italian companies in some production sectors, including healthcare, infrastructure, port logistics, air transport, renewable energy, mining, textiles, agriculture and agri-food.
As part of his mission, Minister Urso is scheduled to visit the Italian textile company ZaEr-Dolce Vita, the "Casa degli Italiani" and the photographic exhibition "Let's Annul the Distance - ANLADI".
Urso is accompanied by a delegation of large Italian companies also made up of Enel, Fincantieri, Ferrovie dello Stato and Bonifiche Ferraresi. Also present was the head of telemedicine of the “Agostino Gemelli” Polyclinic to evaluate the launch of new initiatives for the benefit of the local population.
