Following a four-day visit to Sudan, Egypt's Defence Minister Mohamed Zaki said that Cairo and Khartoum share the same vision regarding threats facing the Middle East region.
The minister's comments came after he returned from the official visit, where he discussed with Sudanese officials military cooperation and a number of issues of bilateral interest.
During his visit, Zaki met with Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir, who praised the relations and historical ties between the two countries.
Following the official reception ceremony at the Sudanese Ministry of Defence, Zaki discussed with his Sudanese counterpart Awad Mohammed bin Auf and Sudan's Chief-of-Staff Kamal Abdul-Marouf cooperation between the armed forces of both countries.
The officials also discussed border security, combating terrorism, and irregular migration.
The Sudanese defence minister stressed his country's keenness to enhance military and security cooperation between the Egyptian and Sudanese armed forces and the need to support security and stability efforts.
The meeting was attended by a number of Egyptian and Sudanese military leaders.
