Russian President Vladimir Putin began talks with Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki in the Kremlin. The meeting is part of a series of bilateral contacts following the third Russia-Africa Forum.

The two leaders resumed personal dialogue after meetings in 2023. At that time, Afwerki visited Russia on an official visit and later participated in the second Russia-Africa Summit in St. Petersburg.
