Thousands of runners lined the Lungadige Attiraglio for the fast-paced Verona Run Fast
10km, both competitive and non-competitive, and the Family Run 6km.
VERONA – The Lungadige Attiraglio was a spectacle this Sunday, October 11th, during the 2nd Verona Run Fast 10k, the fastest race in Verona, organized by Gaac 2007 Veronamarathon Asd in collaboration with the Municipality of Verona and Dario Meneghini's “Running Dream” project.
A magical place on the great river that flows through Verona, a lightning-fast course that lived up to expectations and delighted the 1,200 participants, over 100 of whom came from abroad , who ran at top speed, setting numerous personal bests over the official, FIDAL-approved 10km distance. An event for competitive amateurs, but one that, thanks also to its non-competitive format and the Family Run, gave many families and children the opportunity to participate.
Annamaria Molino , Councilor of the City of Verona, spoke at the finish line and during the awards ceremony : "Verona Run Fast 10k is one of those sporting events that the City of Verona, which is part of the WHO Healthy Cities network, is extremely interested in because sport is important for physical, mental, and social health. Sport embodies so many values. I thank the participants and organizers for preparing such a beautiful day and event."
Federico Centomo , Sports Commission Coordinator for District 2, was present : "As a District, we wanted to be present. This is our second year, and we'll definitely work with the organizers for the third year as well. It's an important event to promote the Lungadige, which is a true gem for us and the people of Verona."
Daniel's encore for women
In the women's race, Eritrean Rahel Daniel doubled her time, crossing the finish line alone in 32'52", a time slightly faster than her own race record from 2025: " I really enjoy running in Verona, I confirmed last year's victory, I gave everything I could, I'm happy, I'll come back to do an even better time ," said the winner.
A clear margin over Rwandan Clementine Mukandanga (Atl. Guastalla Reggiolo) in 34'33”, closely followed by Agnese Carcano (KM Sport) who stopped the clock at 34'42” in third place, like last year.
Rahel Daniel confirms her position as queen of the women's event
The women's race saw Eritrean Rahel Daniel win for the second consecutive year, finishing alone in 32:52. Her time was just shy of the event record she set in 2025. "I really enjoy running in Verona. I confirmed last year's victory, I gave it my all, I'm happy, I'll be back to do an even better time," the winner said.
