The Vice President of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereign Council, Malik Agar Ayir , arrived in the Eritrean capital, Asmara, on a visit focused on bilateral consultations and developing relations between the two countries.

The Vice President of the Sudanese Transitional Sovereignty Council, Mr. Malik Agar Ayir, and his accompanying delegation, arrived in the Eritrean capital, Asmara, on Wednesday morning.
Asmara International Airport witnessed the official reception ceremony, which was attended by Eritrean Foreign Minister Osman Saleh Mohammed, Sudanese Ambassador to Eritrea Osama Ahmed Abdel Bari, Eritrean Ambassador to Sudan Issa Ahmed Issa, and the staff of the Sudanese Embassy in Asmara.
As part of the visit program, Agar met this evening with members of the Sudanese community residing in Eritrea, where he listened to their demands and reviewed with them the latest developments in the homeland.
The visit is expected to include a meeting with His Excellency President Isaias Afwerki of Eritrea, as part of direct consultations between the leaderships of the two countries.
The visit comes within the framework of the distinguished bilateral relations between the two countries, ongoing consultations, and the active role recently played by the Sudanese Embassy in Asmara in strengthening bilateral ties.

In a significant diplomatic move, the visit in Asmara aims to strengthen the strategic partnership with Eritrea.
