His Excellency Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, received today at the Ministry's headquarters His Excellency Nasiruddin Mohammed Saleh, Minister of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Eritrea. Saleh is on a two-day official visit to the Sultanate of Oman, during which he will meet with a number of officials from the public and private sectors to discuss ways to develop economic relations between the two friendly countries.

During the meeting, existing cooperation in the commercial, industrial, and investment sectors was reviewed, and partnership opportunities in promising sectors, including mining, manufacturing, tourism, food security, and logistics services, were discussed. Ways to increase trade volume and enhance cooperation between private sector institutions in the two countries were also discussed.

Cooperation in the fields of energy, minerals, livestock, and fisheries was also discussed, as was the possibility of opening direct banking channels to facilitate trade and imports. The possibility of holding an Omani-Eritrean business forum that would help connect businessmen and review joint investment opportunities in a number of productive sectors was also discussed.

His Excellency Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef affirmed that the visit represents an important step towards strengthening economic relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Eritrea, and exploring new areas of cooperation that serve common interests within the objectives of "Oman Vision 2040." He noted that the Ministry is working to support economic partnerships with African countries as part of its efforts to diversify markets and attract quality investments.

During his visit to the Sultanate of Oman, the Eritrean Minister of Trade and Industry continues to hold a number of meetings with government agencies and private sector representatives to discuss opportunities for cooperation and benefit from Oman's experience in improving the business environment, developing industrial investment, and developing logistics and export services.
