Eritrea and Uzbekistan have officially established diplomatic relations through their missions to the United Nations.

The document, which marked a new chapter in relations between the two countries, was signed by the Permanent Representatives of the countries to the UN, Sofia Tesfa Mariam and Ulugbek Khidirovich Lapasov, respectively.
