Over 150 Eritrean Nationals Arrested Allegedly Operating Small Businesses  Illegally  In Kampala City.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has mounted an operation where it has arrested over 150 Eritreans operating small businesses in areas of Kampala like Make-up business, applying Cutex, operating retail shops, Saloon Riding Bodabodas and selling second-hand clothes.

The suspects have been arrested in areas of Kansanga in Kampala.

Simon Mundeyi has told media today on Kampala that, non-Ugandans are found near institutions like Universities and schools and some of the were engaging in prostitution in areas of Kansanga, Gaba, Munyonyo among others areas. 

He said that the ministry has been lenient on non-nationals since some of them are refugees.

"We have been slow because of the fact that most of these people are refugees.You can't arrest a refugee and deport  them. To where? Asked Mundeyi.

He added that the suspects have been operating these small businesses at night and hiding during daytime.
