The Congress Party, headed by Rabban Omar Al-Mukhtar Samaida, a member of the Senate and founder of the Arab Tribal Council, confirmed that the meeting between President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and his Eritrean counterpart, Isaias Afwerki, President of Eritrea, confirms the depth of Egyptian-Eritrean relations and Egypt’s keenness to achieve security and stability in the region.

 

The Congress Party explained, in a statement issued by it, that the meeting dealt with a number of important issues, including developments in the situation in the Horn of Africa and the ceasefire in Gaza, which is evidence of Egypt’s keenness, led by President Sisi, to achieve security and stability in the region and its pivotal role in the region.

 

The Congress Party stressed that the meeting aims to achieve several positive and fruitful results that will contribute to strengthening bilateral relations and achieving development and prosperity for both countries.

 

The Congress Party pointed to the strength of Egyptian-Eritrean relations throughout the ages, as well as Egypt's keenness to support Eritrea in various fields.

 

The Congress Party pointed out that the meeting marked the beginning of a new phase of cooperation between the two countries, to achieve security and stability in the region.

 

The Congress Party continued that President Sisi’s confirmation of a ceasefire in Gaza and the entry of humanitarian, relief and medical aid to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip is new evidence of Egypt’s continued support for the Palestinian cause.

 

The Congress Party added that President Sisi is working to consult and coordinate with the countries of the region regarding the files of the Horn of Africa and the situation in Sudan to reach consensus at all levels in order to strengthen security and stability in the region.

 

It is noteworthy that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki.

 

The advisor, Dr., said: Ahmed Fahmy, the official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, said that the discussions between the two presidents included the president welcoming the visit of the Eritrean president to Egypt, and affirming the interest of both sides in continuing to develop bilateral relations in order to achieve a shift in the level and depth of cooperation between the two sides in various economic, commercial and security fields, as the discussions focused on activating trade exchange between The two countries and enhancing investment flow by supporting the presence of Egyptian companies in the Eritrean market in sectors of interest and priority to both sides, and in which Egyptian companies have comparative advantages and accumulated experience.
