On December 15, 2023, Eritrean President Isaias met with Xue Bing, Special Envoy for Horn of Africa Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the Eritrean Presidential Palace. Eritrean Foreign Minister Osman, Presidential Economic Advisor and General Coordinator for China Affairs Hagos, and Charge d'affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Eritrea Dai Demao attended.
Xue Bing said that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Eritrea. In May this year, Mr. President successfully visited China and reached important consensus with President Xi Jinping, drawing a new blueprint for the development of bilateral relations. China is willing to work with Eritrea, guided by the consensus reached by the two heads of state, to strengthen the alignment of development strategies, promote the implementation of the "Concept for Peaceful Development in the Horn of Africa", and push the mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries to a higher level.
Isaias said that I paid a state visit to China in May this year and had a successful meeting with President Xi Jinping. Eritrea admires China's great development achievements, highly appreciates China's important role in international affairs, and is willing to strengthen strategic communication and coordination with China, expand practical cooperation in various fields, and promote the construction of a more fair and reasonable international order.
