More than 30,000 athletes were part of the Semi-Marathon de Paris today.

The Half Marathon is the second largest running event in France after the Paris Marathon. As with the Paris Marathon, the organizer is the Amaury Sport Organization.

Hunt from Vincennes castle to new records

At 9:00 am , tens of thousands of participants were released from Vincennes Castle. After about an hour, the fastest athletes were already at the finish again. The course records of Stanley Biwott (59:44 minutes) and Pauline Njeri (67:55 minutes) were already seven years behind. Long enough to finally improve these services.

The conditions were at least given. Because some world class athletes from Africa did not miss the biggest half marathon in France. However, the conditions did not match this year.

Strong women's race

Due to the weather top times were excluded. So Hizkel Tewelde (Eritrea) a time of 1:04:20 hours for the victory in front of Derara Hurisa and local hero Florian Carvalho. In the women's race Nancy Jepkosgei Kiprop (Kenya) won with a remarkable time of 1:09:12 just ahead of Lydia Mathati. Kiprop took the half marathon in preparation for their start at the Vienna City Marathon .

Half Marathon Paris: the French well placed. This 27 th edition was rather successful for the French who came to test for the Paris marathon on April 14. Thus, Florian Carvalho took the 3 th place 1h 05 '47' 'behind Eritrean Hiskel Tewelde winner in 1 h 04'20' 'and the Ethiopian Derara HURISA in 1h 04'48' '. Note the good 5 th place Mahiedine Mekhissi (1 h06'52 '') and the excellent 7 th place of Rennais Hamza El Ouardi who took the 7 th place 1h 07'32 ''.
