Eritrean President Issaias Afwerki accused the Turkish state of trying to control the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea according to the agenda of the Muslim Brotherhood and supported by what he called the "global hegemonic powers" before expressing its categorical rejection of the Turkish presence in Somalia and the Sudanese island of Swakin.

Sudan closed its eastern border with Eritrea after the imposition of a state of emergency in the state of Kassala al-Haddawi for 6 months; claiming the collection of weapons and the elimination of smuggling activities and trafficking in human beings and drugs.

"There are special interests in Sudan and Ethiopia, who are trying to create strife between Sudan and Eritrea, and are now promoting tension between the countries of the region," Afewerki said in an interview with Eritrean satellite television.

Issayas scoffed at the presence of Egyptian troops at the Sawa camp and strongly attacked the office of Al-Jazeera in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, which promoted the false news and described his country's accusations as an escape.

The Eritrean president said he was not sure of a Turkish military presence on the Sudanese island of Suakin, "but if it is true, it is unacceptable."

 Afwerki expressed his categorical rejection of the Turkish presence in Somalia, where Ankara established a military base in Mogadishu last October.

"The Turkish presence in Somalia is unacceptable and does not contribute to the stability of the region," he said. "Turkey is implementing the Brotherhood's agenda in the Red Sea with the support of hegemonic forces."

"Turkey's agenda is to control the region according to the Brotherhood's agenda and to support the forces of global hegemony," he said.

The Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Relations of the Parliament of Sudan Mutawakil Mahmoud Tijani, welcomed the statements of Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki towards Sudan, describing it as positive and establish a different course in the relationship between the two countries, which have been a few Hnat during the past few days.

Tijani said that they in the Sudanese legislative institution calling for calm and non-escalation of positions, "because the region can not tolerate any new flare."

The parliamentary official stressed that his country has historical ties and common interests with Eritrea, and that statements Afwerki supports this trend, pointing out that Sudan adopts a clear position of zero problems with neighboring countries.
