Seattle Eritreans did it Again!

In an atmosphere, which can only be described as a "Home away from home", the Eritrean American community in the Seattle metropolitan area held a successful communal gathering with a strong national overtone that is popularly known as 'hizbawi mekhete'. In a defiant mood to vehemently defend the people and government of Eritrea against the ongoing concocted allegations perpetrated by the enemies of Eritrea, the meeting was held at the Seattle Mahbere Kom auditorium on November 12th, 2011. In an atmosphere that was highly charged for it happened at a time when the enemies of Eritrea and their handlers were leaving no stone unturned to demonize the government and insult the intelligence of the people of Eritrea.

The keynote speaker for the occasion was none other than one of Eritrea's sons and daughters who took it upon themselves as a supreme honor and golden opportunity to defend the long abused Eritrean people under one flimsy excuse or another. Dr. Ghidewon Abay captivated and visibly mesmerized the audience when he eloquently discussed the genesis of the proponents of the so called "Sanction Eritrea" evil campaign that is being pushed by Ethiopia and the US with no justifiable cause!

As a bonus to the program, one of our youngsters, Mr. Yohannes Kahsai, who just returned from Eritrea, updated us about the exiting news that is happening back home where he witnessed first-hand by being there for several months. He further informed us that the more than 14,000 contemporary text books and 125 PCs that were sent from Seattle have arrived in Eritrea and are being allocated to the various zobatat as needed.

The meeting that went on for well over 3 hours was concluded after the participants discussed certain national issues and expressed their resolve by reaffirming their unflinching commitment to the security, political independence, national sovereignty and territorial integrity of their country of origin. Speaker after speaker expressed their satisfaction with the progress of Warsay Yikealo developmental campaign and applauded the steadfastness of the people and government of Eritrea in the face of unprecedented media campaign slandering the peaceful and hardworking people of Eritrea.

As if to place an exclamation mark to the ongoing excitement of the evening, our ever joyous Eritrean mothers, wives, sisters and daughters provided some scrumptious and literally "Finger licking good" Eritrean dishes to the culinary delight and gratitude of many of the participants.

"We unequivocally support the Eritrean Government"!

"There is no force that can break the unity of our people"!

"Eritrean Independence is Irreversible"!

"Awet nHafash"!
