Other Sports Information for the weekend
 
Saturday and Sunday
EAAA will have a track and field competition in the
800, 400, 100 meters and in the one mile run for kids
And adults.
 
On Sunday August 10th, 2008
 
EAAA will have a 5 K Memorial run in support of the 2008
Eritrean Olympic Team that is headed to Beijing, China.
There will be ceremonial activities and everyone is encouraged
To bring their Eritrean Flags and memorabilia to the sports
Complex.
 
Basketball tournament will be held in the same complex as the soccer games.

Soccer Rules and Regulations.
 
While FIFA Rules apply for the most part the following have been added as a rule
For this year’s adult soccer games.
 

All teams must show up on time. If teams are not ready to play after 15 minutes of their scheduled game, they will forfeit the game and will lose.
All First day (Saturday August 9th, 2008) Games will be half hour for each half (one hour full game)
Only 5 players will be allowed to substitute.
All Teams must wear proper attire and wear same color team jersey that represents their team.
FIFA Rules apply for the most part.
Three points for the winner and one point for a tie.
Two Groups of Four teams and each Group winner advances to the championship game on Sunday August 10th, 2008.
 
This year’s basketball, Soccer, Track and field Events will be held in the same location

Kid’s age groups for the soccer tournament are as follows
 

Under 15 years of age
Under 13 years of age
Under 10 years of age
 
There will be six teams two from each group and they will play both
Saturday and Sunday and winners will come out from each group.
 
Awards are as follows,
 

First Place
Second Place
MVP of the tournament
Teams with best behavior.
 
Basket ball has it’s own awards as well as EAAA will give out medals for each winner in their respective events.

Have a safe trip to Washington D.C and there will be ZERO TOLERANCE for bad behavior on and off the field.
 
FYI: EVERYONE PAYS for all Three days events. Even people who are volunteering their precious time. This should be a reminder to all that in order to have a successful festival people need to be prepared ahead of time mentally to pay. No Exceptions!
