Yoel, Alex, and Zebib Mihretab are 5, 7, and 12 years old respectively. The Mihreteab kids live in Charlotte, North Carolina. The siblings were aware of the drought situation in Eritrea and did something to help --they appealed to the local church and explained to the church members of the severe drought Eritrea is faced with, after which a total of $1000.00 was collected and sent to the Emergency Drought Relief Committee (EDRC) in the Washington D.C. area. Not only that, these kids gave up their Christmas gifts and instead sent the money they collected ($710.00) to help Eritrean kids affected by drought. A classic example of children helping children.

EDRC commends these kids for their efforts and encourages parents to help their kids get involved in the fight against the looming famine threatening the lives of so many Eritreans.

Let's not underestimate what kids can do to help. We all need to be in this fight to save precious lives.
