The mountain stage was dominated by the nearly thirteen-kilometer climb to Banyuwangi. Eyob and Lebas then had the best climbing legs. Lebas was able to make up for the gap with classification leader Angus Lyons 3:49 and can therefore wear the leader's jersey on the final day.
Lyons is still in second place in the rankings, at 1:37 from Lebas. In the first stages the ranking has already been completely turned upside down. Due to the huge differences, many favorites for the final classification started with a backlog of the mountains. Lyons still has a two-minute gap towards number three in the rankings, the Moldavian Christian Raileanu. Ride winner Eyob can be found fifth, at 5:10 from Lebas.
