Soi appeared alone before kilometer 8 and quickened his pace upon arrival in front of CAM, taking a good lead over the Ethiopian Yasin Haji and the Colombian Iván González.

In his statements, he affirmed that he trains twice a day in Nairobi, with an intensity of four hours, in which he covers about 40 kilometers. “Everything was very nice, the race, the spectators, the weather, everything was very nice. In Kenya I do it alone, with a very similar time. In November I will run the Istanbul Marathon and it is a good motivation. If I have the opportunity, I will perfectly return to Cali next year”, expressed the Kenyan runner.

For her part, Rahel Daniel, 20 years old, expressed: “it is my first time in Colombia; a very nice race, the competition was strong and I really enjoyed it; Excellent". About the route he said: “a little up and down, but good. Many people on the tour, it is a very cheerful city. Of course I want to come back next year.” As for her next competition, she pointed out that she will go to the Boston Half Marathon and the World Cross Country since she is the current champion.

Joan Osorio, Undersecretary of Sports Development, was part of the 5,000 competitors in the event, which had the support of the Cali Mayor's Office. The Secretary of Sports and District Recreation, Carlos Diago, announced last Friday ( 09.09.2022) that the race will continue to be held within the framework of the 'Petronio Álvarez Pacific Music Festival' .
