In the women's branch, the young twentysomething from Eritrea Rahel Daniel marked distance in a close fight marked by the opposition in the first kilometers of the Latin Americans Daniel Torres (Mexico) and Daiana Ocampo (Argentina). In the final outcome, Rahel Daniel picked up the pace and took the necessary difference to take the title of this first edition of La Carrera del Pacífico- Cali- 10K, leaving the podium options to Kenyans Monica Ngige (32:53) and Verónica Nyaruan (33:01), second and third respectively.
