BINIAM GIRMAY, AGAIN HIM!

The 19-year-old young Eritrean won today in Port- Gentil the 6 th  stage, the second of this Tropical 2020, the third after 2019. A talent was born in Gabon!

Biniam Girmay takes a liking to the roads of Gabon. After the surprise in 2019 by dominating the sprint in Franceville great sprinter  German André Greipel, the young Eritrean today won his second win this year at Port Gentil after Mitzic at the 3 th step.

He thus proved that he had all the talent to  become a great champion in the future .

At only 19 years old, he joined this year the French professional team  Nippo-Delko Provence thanks to his performance on the 2019 Tropicale. By returning to the roads of Gabon, he wanted to confirm that his new leaders were not mistaken in l 'hiring.

He was able to master the last kilometers with great ease while the teams from Cofidis, Natura4Ever-Roubaix and Total-Direct Energie had a great tempo in the final. Biniam Girmay had been well guided by his teammates and he had cleared himself at the right time to  start his sprint. He won without needing the photo finish to decide between his pursuers.

This is the 5 th victory of an African runner in 6 steps, which is  a record since the creation of the Tropical Amissa Bongo in 2006.

On the eve of the arrival in Libreville  fellow Natnael Tesfazion retains e yellow jersey with 1 second lead over  Frenchman Jordan Levasseur from Natura4Ever-Roubaix and 4 over Emmanuel Morin from Cofidis.
