Astana Pro’s Merhawi Kudus won the 120.3km second stage of the Tour du Rwanda in Huye today.
The Eritrean completed the race in 3:02:17, beating Delko Marseille Provence’s Przemyslaw Kasperkiewicz by two seconds in the final sprint. Eritrea’s Biniyam Ghirmay rounded out the podium.
ProTouch’s Jayde Julius was the highest-placed South African, finishing 17th.
With the victory, Kudus took the race lead and will slip on the yellow jersey ahead the third stage tomorrow.
