(MOI Eritrea) Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Eritrea and the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Mr. Osman Saleh and Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu arrived in Mogadishu, Somalia

Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Eritrea and the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Mr. Osman Saleh and Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu arrived in Mogadishu, Somalia, on 17 October for an official working visit.





Upon arrival at the Mogadishu International Airport, the Foreign Ministers were welcomed by the Somali Prime Minister, Mr. Hassan Ali Khayre, Foreign Minister, Mr. Ahmed Isse Awad and other Somali officials.

The visit is part of the diplomatic development and cooperation in the region in general and between Eritrea, Ethiopia and Somalia in particular as well as the continuing process of the Joint Declaration on Comprehensive Cooperation between Eritrea, Ethiopia and Somalia signed on 5 September in Asmara.





At a tripartite meeting Minister Osman Saleh, Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu conducted with the President of Somalia, Mr. Mohammed Abdullahi Mohammed, Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khayre and Foreign Minister Ahmed Isse Awad discussed on the development and progress of the joint cooperation in the economic, political and security sectors and reaffirmed their strong commitment to jointly work for peace, stability and development in the Horn of Africa. 





In the joint press statement released, the Foreign Ministers of Eritrea and Ethiopia reaffirmed their unyielding support to the Government of the Republic of Somalia as well as the political progress it has registered.
