(MOI Eritrea) President Isaias Met and Held Talks with representatives of the Amhara Regional State

President Isaias Afwerki today, 14 September, met and held talks at Adi-Halo with representatives of the Amhara Regional State led by the Speaker of the Regional Assembly, Ms. Werksew Mamo.



The representatives of Eritrea were invited to express their appreciation for the peace agreement with Eritrea and Ethiopia in the implementation of the agreement. They also said that the peace accord will have a significant contribution to building the images of the two countries.

Indicating that friendship and happiness has been restored between the people after 20 years. Eritrea extended to the Ethiopian people at a time of the critical situation. 




Underlining that the two leaders crystallized the aspirations of the peoples of Eritrea and Ethiopia, President Isaias noted that in order to consolidate the peace prospect prevailing between the two peoples the roads connectivity has started at the border points of Debai-Sima-Bure and Serha-Zalambessa roads and that be will extended in other border points.

Speaking to the national media outlets, Ms. Werksew said that initiatives are being taken to make the lost opportunities for the past 20 years including air, marine, road and telecommunications communication that will have significant contribution in making the two contries centers of investment.




The representatives also handed over gifts to President Isaias Afwerki and to Presidential Advisor Mr. Yemane Gebreab.

The Amahara Regional State representatives comprise members of the regional parliament, religious leaders, youth and women representatives as well as businessmen.
