Eritreans in San Jose and environs honored their 27th Independence on Thursday, May 24, 2018, in front of Santa Clara County Building. This is the same building that we took part the historical referendum of Eritrea before it became a sovereign nation to officially become a United Nations member. Although our flag has been raised in San Jose’s City Hall, every year, this time as well, Eritreans in South Bay area honored the flag on County level, the day of Independence, May 24.
The following day, Friday, May 25, 2018, the Senate of the State of California will recognize Eritrean Independence Day of May 24, 1991, in Sacramento, CA.
