On Friday, March 9, 2018, shortly after 7.45 pm, a person was severely injured by a 36-year-old man with a stabbing weapon at the station in Frenkendorf, BL.

The alleged perpetrator could be stopped in the meantime.

According to the findings of the police Basel-Landschaft, there was a dispute between two men directly in front of the station, where a person was severely injured with a stabbing weapon. Several patrols moved to the scene.

The injured 54-year-old victim, a Guinean by birth, had to be taken to a hospital by the medical staff with a severe injury in the head area. The alleged perpetrator, a 36-year-old man from Eritrea, was able to be stopped in the meantime as part of a promptly launched search.

The public prosecutor Basel-Land has opened against him a corresponding criminal case. The facts are still unclear and the subject of further clarifications.
