Egypt: government tries to fight Sudan actions and sends military supplies to Eritrea

Cairo,  - (Agenzia Nova)- The crisis between Egypt and Sudan is likely to escalate after the decision of the Sudanese president, Omar al Bashir, to grant Turkey the use also for military purposes of the island of Suakin, in the Red Sea.
Yesterday, 2 January, Egyptian military supplies arrived in Eritrea, delivered to the military base in Sawa, on the border with Sudan. In particular, Egypt would send transport and armored vehicles to the base where Eritrean forces are trained.
In parallel, a meeting between Eritrean officers, Egyptians, Emirati and Sudanese rebel movements such as those in Darfur would have taken place. The meeting would be convened to discuss a possible response to Al Bashir's proclamation of the state of emergency, announced last December 30, in the provinces of Kordofan and Kasala, in the east of Sudan, on the border with the Eritrea.
