GoE, OLF reach reconciliation agreement
After a meeting that was held between the Oromo Liberation Front (OLF) and the Government of Ethiopia (GoE), an agreement has been reached today in Asmara, the capital of Eritrea, for the former to come to Ethiopia and engage in the country’s political activities peacefully.
The agreement was reached between the president of Oromia Regional State and the deputy chairman of the Oromo Peoples’ Democratic Organization (OPDO) Lemma Megersa and OLF chairman Dawud Ibsa heralding termination of hostilities between the two sides, Yemane Gebremeskel, Eritrea’s Information Minister, tweeted.
Accordingly, the OLF will conduct political activities in Ethiopia and a joint committee will be established for the implementation of the agreement, Yemahe added.
The Ethiopian delegation included Workneh Gebeyehu (PhD), Foreign Affairs Minister of Ethiopia.
