Greetings ESA,

Once again, it is time to put together the Spring newsletter of the Eritrean Studies Association. Please be aware the newsletter may be a little later than usual this year as we are trying to include a preliminary schedule of the Independent Eritrea: Lessons and Prospects conference.

If you are a current dues-paying member, please respond to this email immediately with your current contact information, institutional affiliation, and discipline. This is necessary for keeping our records fully updated. If you did not renew your membership in November 2000 at the time of the annual meeting, please do so as soon as possible to insure that you will be included in the Spring 2001 newsletter.

Also, please send any information you would like to share about your recent work or research on Eritrea-related matters, any new publications of your own or of others (in any language) that you have seen, and anything else you would like us or the rest of the association to know. We strive to make the newsletter a participatory effort that reflects the interests of our members. We especially encourage new members or those who have not done so before to send us a few sentences about yourself and your area of interest in Eritrea to be included in the "member news" section.

Thank you,
Trish Hepner
