Eritrea Investment Conference Announcement
The Government of Eritrea is convening a conference on investing in
the Eritrean economy to be held on August 27-28, 2012 in Asmara. This
initiative comes at a time when the Eritrean economy is entering a
new phase of accelerated growth as a result of the steadfastness,
hard work and sustained investment by the people and government of
Eritrea over the past two decades. It is also in line with the
Government's objective and strategy of fostering the broadest
participation of the Eritrean people in the development of the
economy and the creation and distribution of the national wealth.
The "Eritrea Investment Conference" will focus on three key pillars
of investment:-
* Savings and financing programs
* Broad participation in the ownership of profitable enterprises by
buying shares; and
* Priority sectors and specific projects for investment by Eritreans
An overall policy paper as well as papers on the three pillars will
be presented by Government representatives. There will also be
opportunity for follow up discussions on specific ideas and
investment projects.
The Government of Eritrea is, therefore, inviting Eritreans
interested in the objectives of the conference and in investing in
Eritrea to participate in this important conference.
