465 graduate from Halhale College of Business and Economics in degree and
diploma

Halhale, 9 July 2012 - A total of 465 students graduated in degree and
diploma from Halhale College of Business and Economics (HCBE) in the fields
of Marketing, Economics, Management and Finance.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony in Halhale, Ms. Askalu Menkerios,
Minister of Tourism, noted that the Government has been making substantial
investment with a view to reinforcing professional capacity in all domains,
and called on members of the graduating batch to translate into deeds their
pledge to back up national development programs.

Dr. Yemane Misgina, Dean of the College, stated that it has been stepping up
efforts as regards nurturing youths that are equipped with knowledge and
professionalism. He further indicated that 19 staff members of the College
have been sent overseas to pursue Masters and Ph.D. studies, and thereby
fill the gap for lecturers.

A representative of the graduating batch commended the Government's
prioritized investment for the development of human capital, and said that
they would serve the people with dedication.

The HCBE which was founded in 2004 yesterday graduated the fifth batch which
comprises 195 degree and 270 diploma holders, 35% of whom are females.

Hamelmalo Agricultural College graduates 342 students in degree and diploma


Hamelmalo, 8 July 2012- Hamelmalo Agricultural College graduated on 7 July
342 students in degree and diploma in the domains of Agricultural economics,
Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, Animal Science, Horticulture, Seed
Control, Land and Environmental Resources as well as Animal Husbandry.

195 students graduated with degree and 147 with diploma.

Speaking at the 5th graduation ceremony, Mr. Arefaine Berhe, Minister of
Agriculture, indicated that the Government of Eritrea is making huge
investment to nurture skilled human resources in the agricultural domain in
order to ensure food security and called on graduates to develop their
skills in practice.

Mr. Semere Amlesom, Dean of the College, stated that the college which
commenced its activities in 2005 with 475 students and 32 lecturers and in
the course of seven years in this year's first semester 1,698 and in the
second semester 1579 students are following their studies. He also pointed
out that the College has sent 11 graduate assistants overseas for Master's
and PHD studies.

He further reminded graduates to continuously consult with farmers and serve
their country and people with dedication.

The representative of the graduating batch on his part commending the
investment being made on the youth asserted that they would serve the
country with dedication.

Agricultural College of Hamelmalo which is located 11 km north of Keren has
so far graduated 1,788 students in different domains of agriculture.

1,120 students graduate in degree and diploma from EIT


Asmara, 7 July 2012 - The Eritrean Institute of Technology (EIT) graduated a
total of 1,120 students in degree and diploma.

Speaking at the 5th graduation ceremony conducted today, Mr. Semere Rusom,
Minister of Education, congratulated the graduating batch and parents and
indicated that the Government has massively been investing on youths to
equip themselves with the desired knowledge in the present era of
information transformation. He further called on the citizenry to extend a
helping hand as regards supplementing endeavors to foster excellence of
colleges, and said that the growing educational and career opportunities
attest to the youths' bright future.

Dr. Tesfamichael Haile, Vice President of the EIT for Academic Affairs,
stated that the Institute has made remarkable progress in ensuring
international standards. He also pointed out that the Institute is sending
graduate assistants overseas for higher studies and launching postgraduate
programs, in which 33 graduate assistants are pursuing masters studies.

The representative of the graduating batch on his part asserted that they
would serve the country with dedication.

The EIT which comprises the Colleges of Education, and Science, as well as
Engineering and Technology graduated today 342 students in degree and 746 in
diploma, in addition to 30 students who graduated in Aeronautical
Engineering for the first time.
