Successful Hizbawi Mekete in Las Vegas     Nationals in Las Vegas Nevada conducted successive public seminars under the team “Lomi Zeymekete Bdewu kem zmote” on Wednesday June 6 and 7, 2012. On this patriotic occasion, Doctor Tesfay Aradom gave comprehensive briefing about our current political and economic situations emphasizing how the people and government or Eritrea are working hard to ensure sustainable economy and political prosperity of country. Using statistical data, he compared Eritrean progress in the sectors of health, economy and general wellbeing in comparison to other countries in Africa. He also talked about the political situation in our region and the role of external forces that are destabilizing our region. He advised the Eritrean community to continuously engage with their country and remain alert against any further aggressions and biased foreign policies that targets Eritrea. Participants show their readiness to defend their country at any time and cost.    The next day Thursday June 7, Dr Tesfay Aradom also conducted a youth seminar on Identity, Culture, nationalism and nation building. Dr Tesfay focused on the general Eritrean youth in Diaspora and briefed the challenges of immigration, culture and identity. He advised the youth represent the unique history of the country and its people and how to use the historical context in forming healthy Eritrea community. Using his expertise knowledge, he stressed the importance of education as a vehicle for success especially to the second generation of immigrants. In both meetings, participants actively participated by asking questions regarding their country’s progress and its challenges. a few pro-weyane Eritrean hoodlums tried to disrupt the seminar. The community patiently urged them to sit down, listen and ask questions during the questions and answer session. However, since they were instructed to disrupt and not to participate they continued on and the Mekete organizers called the authorities and the hood looms were shamelessly expelled from the hall. A couple of them were seen running with tails between their legs. Do not mess with Las Vegas again. Awet N’Hafash!!
