12th November 2010

TORONTO (miningweekly.com) - Vancouver-based Nevsun Mining expects to
complete the first gold pour at its new Bisha mine in Eritrea before the end
of the year, the company confirmed on Wednesday.

Substantially all the civil, plate work, structural, mechanical and piping
is in place, all major earthworks and the liner installation for the
tailings management facility is complete and various mechanical equipment is
being commissioned, the firm said.

The company said last month that the power plant had been commissioned and
was delivering power for the commissioning process.

Commissioning is running smoothly, and the project remains on track to come
in inside the targeted $260-million capital cost, the firm reported.

By the end of the fourth quarter, the company intends to start operating the
tailings management facility, complete full plant commissioning, including
the introduction of ore, and pour the first gold.

Bisha is expected to produce 450 000 oz of gold in its first year of
commercial production, at a cost of less than $250/oz.
