Somalia: At least 15 killed in renewed Mogadishu fighting

At least 15 people were killed and 22 others wounded on Sunday in two days
fighting in Mogadishu between insurgent forces and African Union (AU)
peacekeeping troops backing the Somali government, Radio Garowe reports.
Fighting erupts Hodan district especially hesbiga hospital, milk factory and
Russian buildings when mortar killed dozen people, injured many others while
dozen others fled from their houses.
"Five people have been killed include children in Tawalka base near between
Digfeer and Banaadir, injured 15 others," witnesses told Garowe Online.
According to the witnesses, the radical who fighting with the government and
AU/AMISOM was behind the firing mortars which brought casualties to the
resident.
Conflicts are still rising up in Digfer Hospital,--Hodan district despite
the presence of AU Peacekeeping forces who just established a new base
there.
Spokesperson for the AU peacekeeping mission in Somalia (AMISOM), Maj.
Behuko noted the new base will include the other bases that AU controlling,
he urged that the pro-government will continue to seize more other bases
that Islamist controls.
Somali spokesman, Col. Abdullahi Hassan Barise also stated that Somali
troops captured new base when he held a press conference inside the camp.
"Our troops are controlling milk factory in Hodan district, while arranging
to continue capturing more other bases," Col. Abdullahi told the media.
Continuous fighting between insurgents linked to Al-Qaeda and pro-government
security forces backed by AU/AMISON has killed thousands of Somalis and
displaced hundreds of thousands more, mostly from the capital Mogadishu.
