China: China has been acting more assertive in numerous places
simultaneously, from Nepal to Japan, the South China Sea and in its rhetoric
toward the United States. Though any one of these, and several other
observations of recent Chinese behavior, appears insignificant in itself,
the quantity and geographic spread requires that we look closer at this
issue. Are we just seeing an illusion of assertiveness, or are we seeing the
stirrings of a new Chinese foreign policy?
