Why YPFDJ & the North American conference 2008 is important.

The Young People's Front For Democracy and Justice (YPFDJ) is a youth
movement of Eritrean youth from the diaspora and within Eritrea working to
build a strong conscious and Patriotic youth who will carry on the torch of
those who paid dear price to gain independence and respect for the nation of
Eritrea. The YPFDJ movement began it's mission 4 years ago in North America
and almost around the same time in Europe. YPFDJ members believe that they
can be stronger by working together with youth throughout the global
diaspora and help create a bright and wise group of young people that will
play a role in the building of a dynamic nation while also being a part and
parcel of their adopted countries. YPFDJ as an organization belongs to its
members and is open to anyone committed to the principles and goals of a
strong, conscious and patriotic youth movement.

YPFDJ conferences offer a meeting of all interested youth in Eritrea's
affairs a space for the free exchange of ideas. It is a network that links
like-minded youth with each other, with resources, and with opportunities.
It is also a community of young Eritreans whose members work together and
support each other in solidarity even though each chapter and city has it's
own unique way of contributing to the bigger picture.

At the Third YPFDJ conference near Toronto, Canada in 2007, young Eritrean
participants from around the United States came together to learn and be
educated from leaders of the Eritrean nation as well as others including
youth who were able to share ideas on how to develop a sustainable movement
by empowering the younger generation in building a stronger, more conscious
and patriotic youth promotion activities.Today, the Youth Movement aims to
serve as a platform for young Eritreans to address the importance of
promoting the values of the Eritrean struggle for independence and how it
must be maintained as a historical lesson for future generations as well as
create a forum for sharing information and ideas, and an action-oriented,
solidarity movement.

It provides a space for young Eritreans to build relationships with each
other, to collaborate across borders, to deepen their knowledge on key
issues, and to develop practical skills. This unique movement aims to
support youth participation in efforts to strengthen Eritrea where it is
weak, to reform and invigorate Eritrea even where it is longstanding, and to
bolster all Eritrean youth groups that will never betray their nation in
places where Eritrean youth live and congregate and have not yet realized
that the values and principles of the EPLF and PFDJ are what have made the
nation of Eritrea stronger and better.
On Thursday August 28th, 2008 when hundreds of YPFDJ conference attendees
flock into Washington D.C they will be glad that they did because when they
finish the conference on Monday September 1st, 2008 they will have taken
with them a wealth of knowledge, Camaraderie and love for the strong and
proud Eritrean principles that thousands of lives stood for. They will be
proud that Eritrea is a nation that will always remain special. They will
appreciate that the EPLF and now the PFDJ is a movement that built Eritrea
from scratch.Enjoy the conference and take some of the knowledge with you
and share it with others. Here is how one youth from Entebbe Uganda
explained his vision of YPFDJ.

Eritrean Youth is Proud of his/her identity. Moreover, he/she has Fabulous
vision for his/her nation. He/she has a great zeal to see his/her country
Developed with strong defense force.Red Sea state's youth Justified his/her
devotion and commitment for the progress of the nation building campaign.
