Bloodbath of Somali presidential guards

Somali
insurgents attack the country's presidential palace in the capital,
Mogadishu killing more than 27 guards and injuring nearly 35 others.
The insurgents have pushed further than President Abdullahi Yusuf
Ahmed's palace's front gate without the guards minding their entrance
and setting three military vehicles belonging to them afire, according
to reports from a Press TV correspondent there.
The back gate of the Villa Somalia palace has as well been swarmed with 35,00 other insurgents.
Civilians in the nearby Bakara Market were caught in the crossfire
after the guards started answering the insurgents' barrage of fire.
A number of explosions as well rang out in Mogadishu's Wardhiigley
district where the bazooka-wielding insurgents were seen running riot.
The Somali government, which in the past two years has been shored
up with Ethiopian soldiers, has constantly failed to deal with the
country's runaway insurgency. The enlistment of the US-backed
Ethiopians have apparently, however, boomeranged and the apparently
trigger-happy soldiers have as well been blamed for causing the deaths
of hundreds of Somali civilians.
