Kidane Qualifies for the final round of 5000m while Ali missed it by one rank
Kidane Tadesse finished fourth today in the heat one of the 5000m Olympic competition. Kidane clocked 13:37 while Ali Abdella finished fifth in the second heat with a time of 13:49. Only four advanced to the final round, and Ali was out ranked by less than a second.
Kidane is due to run the final 5000m competition on Saturday at 20:10 Beijing time, 8:10 Am Washington, DC time. Only 15 people have qualified for the final round.
Also in the Marathon, Yonas, Yared and Tesfayohannes arrived in Beijing on Monday after being training in the high altitude of Eritrea. The marathon, which is the last running event of Beijing, is going to take place at 7:30Am on Sunday BEIJING TIME, That is 7:30PM on Saturday Washington, DC time.
Kidane exemplified a great performance in the 10000m on Sunday and now in the 5000m qualifying competition.
