Simret Sultan breaks national record for the 5000m
Simret Sultan breaks natioanl record for the 5000m. Her time was 15:16:25 but her rank at 8th place did not qualify her for the final round. Simret is breaking her own national record that she set in the All African Games.
Eritrean female runners are emerging to the top and their first appearance of podium was Japan in 2006.
In a related event, Ali Abdella and Kidane Tadesse are due to run tomorrow at 22:15 Beijing and 8:15am Washington, DC time.
