Ahmadinejad: US exploiting UNSC

The Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, says Washington is
exploiting the United Nations Security Council to advance its own
agenda.
"Can the UNSC adopt a resolution against the US?" President Ahmadinejad
rhetorically asked in a Tuesday address to the 15th Foreign Ministerial
Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in Tehran.
"When the root of most problems in the world traces back to the White
House, it is a waste of time to expect this body (the UNSC) to be the
solution to any crisis," he expounded.
Referring to the 2003 invasion of Iraq, when the Security Council
granted Washington the authority of military intervention in Iraq only
after the US violated the sovereignty of the oil-rich country.
The then UN Secretary-General, Kofi Annan, told BBC in September 2004
that, "From our point of view and from the Charter point of view (the
war) was illegal."
The US invaded Iraq under the pretext that the country was an active
producer of chemical and biological weapons with ties to al-Qaeda.
Over one million civilians and some 4000 American soldiers have so far
lost their lives in the war on terror in Iraq in spite of the fact that
all such US allegations have been discredited as lies.
Regarding the Vietnam War, President Ahmadinejad said records show that
any conflict started by certain permanent members of the UNSC will not
end in justice and aggressors will go unpunished.
