Iran offers to act as a mediator between Somali political opposing
groups

In a press conference today in Tehran with the new Somali ambassador
Abdul Rahman Abdul Hossein,The Iranian foreign minister Mr. Monoucher
Mottaki have pledged that his country is giving a high priority to
mediate the Somali political opposing groups in order to reach a fresh
lasting solution to the Somali political deadlock that caused the death
of Millions of Somali innocent civilians and the displacement of other
Millions of ordinary citizens.
Mr. Mottaki has also blamed the world's most powerful nations of
ignoring the foreign interference of Somali territories and creating
violence among the ethnic Somali political groups that
drove the innocent citizens live under starvation around the streets of
the capital city having no food to eat, no water to drink and no where
to shelter.
The number of those entirely innocent displacing people has been highly
increasing since the Ethiopian troops have interfered illegally into the
Somali soil where they are still remaining to be a part of the current
political crises and the disaster that absolutely destroyed the
country's prestige and Honor.
Somalia's strategic setting and natural resources have drawn the
attention of certain powers to the country - powers that are trying to
secure their interests in Somalia through fueling instability," he said.
"We are ready to help bring about an agreement through talks," added the
Iranian foreign minister, urging Somalis to try to reach a compromise in
order to end the civil war broke out in Somalia.
Mottaki's comments come amid enduring conflict in Somalia between the
anti-government forces of the Islamic Courts Union and the
Ethiopian-backed Transitional Federal Government that brought down the
ICU administration in early 2007.
