Hi Folks,
This past thanksgiving weekend a group of Eritrean soccer players over age 50, got together in the beautiful city of Atlanta, Georgia to start a yearly event that can bring Eritreans together. As most of us know Atlanta was where the first Eritrean sports (soccer) federation started the major Eritrean sporting event that has been around for over 25 years. In the game that was played which featured teams from the North east area and the Southeast one can see the camaraderie and togetherness of these generation that has played an integral part to the success of the Eritrean sports federation in North America. .
The organizers would like to inform the public at large that anyone interested in joining them is welcome to do so. Communities are also encouraged to bring a team and participate in what could be a very fun weekend. The organizers however are planning to have the event in September each year and while everyone is welcome to attend they have indicated that games will be played by players who are 50 and over.
