Firm's staff make visit to help village

Published Date: 31 January 2011

A SOFTWARE company has set out to help a school project in the Horn of Africa - for the second year running.

Employees from TPP, based in Horsforth, have volunteered to travel to Eritrea to support the village of Beggu.

Last year three employees travelled out taking computers, solar panels and sports equipment. This year four staff members took even more gear, as well as funding for a new water tank.

Horsforth woman Jane Plastow, who has taken part in relief projects in Africa, got TPP involved after meeting company director Frank Hester.

This year was the second time customer relations manager Ashley Brook has visited Beggu. He said: "Everything we do and have given them has been so appreciated."

The school in Beggu has also been supported by pupils at Newlaithes School in Horsforth.
