Eritrean President Arrives in Cairo Tomorrow

Cairo,May 03 (QNA) - Eritrean President Isaias Afworki is expected to arrive in Cairo tomorrow , Tuesday for a two-day visit to Egypt and talks with his Egyptian Peer Hosni Mubarak and other senior officials. An Eritrean diplomatic source said in a statement here Monday that the two presidents will discuss the latest developments in the Horn of Africa and Somalia , the River Nile file , international sanctions imposed on Eritrea and means of bolstering bilateral relations.

'''' The distinguished relations between the two countries are now swiftly progressing in view of the real joint interests on the ground between them'''', said the source referring meantime to the Egyptian-Eritrean strategic interest in the Red Sea since Egypt is considered the Northern Gate of the Red Sea while Eritrea overlooks the Southern part of the Red Sea in the Strait of Bab al-Mandab. Elaborating the Eritrean Diplomatic source said that the two countries are deeply interested in achieving peace and stability in Somalia And Sudan.(QNA) MD
