President Al-Bashir Receives Message from Eritrean President
Khartoum, Feb. 17 (SUNA) - President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer
Al-Bashir, Wednesday received a message from the Eritrean President,
Issais Afewerki, dealing with the bilateral relations and means of
consolidating the cooperation between the two countries. The message was
handed to President Al-Bashir by the visiting Advisor of the Eritrean
President, Abdalla Jabir. Abdalla Gabi said in a statement to SUNA
following his meeting with President Al-Bashir that his current visit to
Sudan comes as part of the contentious consultations between the tow
countries on the issues of mutual concern. He indicated that the message
of President Afewerkin touched on the foreign interventions and hegemony
at the Horn of Africa region as well as Eritrea's stance in this regard.
Gabi said that the message dealt on ways to confront the international
movements in the region, particularly the allegations of the
International Criminal Court against the Sudan and the decision of the
United Nations Security council to impose sanctions on Eritrea. He said
that the meeting also reviewed the vision of Sudan and Eritrea to
overcome such challenges. MF/MO
