A triumphant conclusion to the 2nd Minnesota Hizbawi Meeting:
Hizbawi Mekete of Minnesota concluded a successful seminar with Sophia
Tesfamariam as the honored guest. On February 13, 2010 Sophia Tesfamariam
gave a presentation to Eritreans in Minnesota regarding the unlawful
sanction imposed on Eritrea by the United States of America in the name of
the Security Council. The seminar had a successful turnout of over 350
Eritreans in Minnesota.
The seminar with a member of Mekete providing an introduction of Mekete and
the goals and objectives of this group and what is expected of Eritreans in
Minnesota. The seminar continued with Sophia Tesfamariam providing the
specifics of Resolution 1907. She explained in detail the intricacies of
the Horn of Africa relationships and how Eritrea has become a victim of this
dysfunctional relationship as orchestrated by the US. Attendees actively
participate in an informative seminar with Sophia Tesfamariam as she
described the unjust Resolution 1907, what its veiled intent is for the
region and what the next actions expected of the Eritrean people and all
responsible citizens.
The conference attendees showed a patriotic passion towards Eritrea and the
people of Eritrea. They expressed their displeasure of the unlawful
Resolution 1907 and gave their commitment to support the fight to reverse
this resolution. Minnesota Citizens further demonstrated their commitment
towards the fight by pledging both time and money for the cause. Many
registered to appear in person for the Washington DC demonstration February
22nd.
The march has begun and Eritrean Minnesotans will be in the forefront to end
this injustice once again.
